Welcome to Empowering Women in Real Estate, The Podcast! Today I want to offer you specific markers you can use to know if you are ready to join a team and how to pick the team model that is right for you.
I'll share my experiences over 17 years of doing business, joining a Rainmaker team and moving on.
If you're new to the business and you are focusing on leads, a Rainmaker team might be a good place to start. As soon as you notice that about half of your incoming work is from personal contacts, though, I want you to re-evaluate.
There are actually many different models of teams. These other types of teams are great for agents whose motivation is leaning more toward camaraderie and marketing assistance.
Consider these aspects of the teams you are considering:
- What is the lead rotation system?
- What are the splits?
- What are the expectations of the team, especially time-wise?
The best tip I can give you is to attend a few of the open houses of the brokerage or team you are considering and chat with the agent. Talk to them about how they feel on the team.
